- 1 box ditalini pasta
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon chopped
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: fresh herbs basil, parsley, additional seasoning (garlic powder, red pepper flakes)
Cook the ditalini pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain.
While the pasta is cooking, heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from the pan and drain on paper towels.
In the same skillet, add frozen peas, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for about 5 minutes, until the sauce is hot and slightly thickened.
Toss the cooked pasta with the creamy sauce. Add some reserved pasta cooking water as needed to help the sauce adhere to the pasta.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
