For the Cake:
- 1 box dark chocolate fudge cake mix
- 1 3.4 oz box chocolate pudding mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- ¾ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Soaking Liquid:
- 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 4 oz chocolate 60% cacao recommended
- ½ cup heavy cream
For the Frosting:
- 1 can coconut pecan frosting
Prepare the Cake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, chocolate pudding mix, eggs, yogurt, vegetable oil, whole milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until smooth.
Pour batter into a greased 9x13-inch pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool slightly.
Poke and Soak:
Use a fork or toothpick to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
Warm the sweetened condensed milk slightly (if desired) and pour it over the poked cake, allowing it to soak in.
Make the Ganache:
Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until almost boiling.
Pour over the chocolate and let sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.
Let the ganache cool slightly before spreading it over the cake.
