Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or blueberries optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line or grease a muffin tin.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Fold in optional mix-ins.
  • Fill muffin cups 2/3 full with batter.
  • Bake for 18-22 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
